Another Dubai trend is making its way around the world and this time it’s a viral Karak Chai Toast. According to many creators who are hopping on this trend, this viral recipe is a childhood classic in their households. But to others around the world, it’s a new treat we’re so excited to try.
In 2024, the viral Dubai chocolate bar took the world by storm. It’s a chocolate bar stuffed with kataifi (Kunafa or Knafeh) and pistachio cream. A year later, it’s still seen everywhere. So the question is, will this viral Karak Chai Toast make the same impact?
The recipe is super simple and resembles the textures of a tres leches cake or a soggy tiramisu, in my opinion. Additionally, I usually don’t like my Karak chai sweetened and tend to skip the sugar. But in this case, I highly suggest it and maybe even some condensed milk to add sweetness to the recipe.

Karak Chai:
directions

Start by making the Karak Chai. While this recipe varies from region to region, this is how I make it at home. Boil water, add loose tea bags and herbs. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then pour in evaporated milk.
Optional: add sugar and/or condensed milk for a sweeter taste.

Spread plain cream cheese on the bread.
Note: I opted for brioche bread because I like the buttery taste of the bread and thought it would be the best option, but feel free to use any bread you have at home.

Pour karak chai over the cream cheese sandwich and enjoy immediately.
