Summer is finally here! And we think there is no better way to celebrate than with one of Starbucks’ most loved drinks. Exclusive to Canadian customers, the Cool Lime Refresher is returning to the Starbucks menu this July.
Fans may recall that last summer, the Cool Lime Refresher was reintroduced for the first time in years, along with a few variations on the classic. But, great news, the coffee chain is bringing them back for the summer 2025 and Canadians are sure to enjoy them! Read on to learn more about the Cool Lime Refreshers return and a review of the Lime Coconut Drink and the Cool Lime Lemonade Refresher.

What Happened to Cool Lime Refresher?
The Cool Lime Refresher was first added to the Starbucks menu in 2012. It was one of the first Refreshers ever released alongside the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher. Customers loved it for the light flavour, the natural boost of energy from green coffee extract and how refreshing it was. A few years later, the Cool Lime Refresher was removed from the menu. Starbucks fans were so upset that people went as far as creating a petition to bring back the Cool Lime Refresher. Starbucks said that year after year, the Cool Lime Refresher is the most requested beverage to be re-added to its menu.
Summer 2024 was dubbed brat summer. Inspired by pop star Charli XCX’s iconic album, Starbucks jumped on the brat summer bandwagon and brought back the Cool Lime Refreshers for a limited time, and exclusively to Canadian customers.
What Are the New Starbucks Cool Lime drinks?
The classic Cool Lime Refresher is returning exclusively to the Starbucks Canada menu alongside two new lime beverages. They all feature the Cool Lime base that you know and love with a twist. They are the Cool Lime Lemonade Refresher and the Lime Coconut Drink. After trying all three Cool Lime drinks, here is our honest review and ranking from worst to best.
3. Lime Coconut Drink
The Lime Coconut drink takes the Cool Lime refresher blend of lime and ice and combines it with a creamy coconut beverage. This drink is super creamy and tropical. It almost reminds us of a pina colada or a mojito. If it were mixed with a bit of rum, we would be transported to a tropical location. The lime flavour is definitely present but not at the forefront of the drink like it is in the others. For that reason we did like this drink, it just didn’t compare to the others.

2. Cool Lime Refresher
The classic Cool Lime Refresher blends lime and water, is shaken with ice and is topped with a real lime slice. Sipping this brought us right back to the mid-2010s. The flavour is so nostalgic, zesty and refreshing. Due to the water, the lime flavour is more subdued in comparison to the Cool Lime Lemonade Refresher. However, this drink is exactly like we remembered it and we are so excited we can sip on it again.
1. Cool Lime Lemonade Refresher
The Cool Lime Lemonade Refresher is the classic Cool Lime Refresher with the addition of mint and shaken with lemonade. This drink is even sweeter and zestier than the classic and is so refreshing. It would be perfect to sip on while sitting by the pool or out for a walk on a hot summer day. It has that classic lime refresher taste but the tartness of the lemonade elevates the flavours even more. We, of course, love the original Cool Lime Refresher, but this takes it to another level we didn’t know existed.

Where Can I Find the Starbucks Cool Lime Refresher Drinks?
The Starbucks Cool Lime Refresher drinks will be returning to the menu on July 8. However, Starbucks Rewards members will get early access to the drinks starting July 1.
